Rural Connectivity Focus at Philippine Tech Show

unconnected.org joined the Philippine Tech Show 2025 organized by the Philippine Cable and Telecommunications Association

Republic of the Philippines Senator Grace Poe opened the event highlighting the significance of the internet for economic growth and national development. The remarks also focused on how satellite is revolutionizing the judiciary system in the southernmost province of the country, introducing efficiencies through connectivity.

Benefits of digital infrastructure were also taken up, positively changing the lives of fishermen, students and entrepreneurs. This aligns well with unconnected.org’s goal of providing at least 1 million Filipinos access to the internet.

The event served as a platform to engage cable TV operators, telecommunications companies and internet service providers to further the objective of facilitating affordable connectivity in rural and remote areas.

Several member-partners of unconnected.org were also present in the event, including RA Omega Cable TV, Freq IT Solutions, GNet Network and Data Solution, REVZTEL, Bongao-Salug Valley Cable TV, KCAT, and Wireless Link, among others.

Jessieca Baris, Technology Manager of unconnected.org, engaged booth visitors, “let’s continue to work together for the betterment of connectivity in rural areas.”

unconnected.org thanks the PCTA, as well as the Internet Society, Asia Pacific Network Information Center, Philippine Network Operators Group and the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines for the opportunity to share our mission.
